Advisory specialising in academies and training centres

VAT-exempt courses, hourly teachers, online training… Don't let management take away your time from teaching.

Running an academy means organizing courses, students, teachers and programs that do not always work in the same way. And these differences also have fiscal, labour and administrative consequences. At Afianza Avant we know the particularities of the educational sector and we help you solve them so that you can dedicate your efforts to improving and growing your project.

—Frequently asked questions

These are the most frequently asked questions we are asked from the training sector

What training in my academy can be exempt from VAT?

The exemption depends on the type of education, who teaches it, and its relationship with the educational system's study plans. Certain educational activities may be exempt, while other courses must charge VAT. We review your training offer to determine the correct treatment for each program.

How do I apply withholdings to native or foreign teachers?

If the teacher is not a tax resident in Spain, his or her taxation may be subject to Non-Resident Income Tax and may also be affected by the double taxation agreement signed with his or her country of residence. We analyse each case to determine the withholding and corresponding tax obligations.

What labour agreement applies to teachers who work hourly?

The applicable agreement depends on the nature and activity of the center. In many academies and private non-regulated training centres, the Collective Agreement on Non-Regulated Education and Training is applicable, which establishes specific conditions on working hours, teaching hours and other labour issues. We review your activity and the organisation of the team to correctly apply the corresponding framework.
